Arriving by road

  • Turn west off the A14 at the Bury St Edmunds East Exit (junction 44)
  • Go straight-on at the first roundabout, and pass the BP service station on your right
  • A few hundred yards further you will reach the Southgate Green Roundabout. Take the last (third exit) which leads directly into Southgate Street
  • You will see the Abbey Hotel about 300 yards further on the right

Arriving by train

  • The Abbey Hotel is 20 minutes walk across town from Bury St Edmunds railway station
  • Taxis are easily available at the station and the fare to the Abbey Hotel usually comes to around £3
